3D Printed Racecar Classroom Project: Video Tutorial

In this video tutorial, you’ll learn how to 3D print with SolidWorks on a Makerbot using the Racecar model from SOLIDWORKS Educator Curriculum 2015.

It’s worth noting that you’ll reach a point in the printing process (where the wheels of the car meet the body of the car) when the MakerBot loses is basis to print upon. This is because MakerBot 3D printers do not print with support material – only model material.

This tutorial will walk you through the process of manually adding in supports using SolidWorks software. Ideally, this means you can print the racecar with no problems or mess.

Try it for yourself!

This tutorial comes from SolidWorks’ YouTube Channel. Feel free to poke around to find some other great project ideas.
