Design and Digital Fabrication

  • Give students a platform to imagine, invent, collaborate and create

Teaching engineering design process has changed with the advent of new digital fabrication technologies. Students at all levels can now solve complex, real-world problems through project-based learning in creatively stimulating learning environments.

Elementary education is the opportune tie to introduce students to basic robotics principles and 3D CAD design software so that they are fully prepared to operate the 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC machine tools in their middle and high school education.

At the university level, digital fabrication technologies have far reaching applications from architecture to art and design to medical research.

No matter what the area of study, students with access to 3D modeling, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping technologies that push the boundaries of invention and creation will find ways to bridge the gap between their ideas and physical representations of their ideas.
