Introducing the New MakerBot Method 3D Printer

Today, MakerBot launched a new 3D printer — MakerBot Method.

Method is being billed as the very first performance 3D printer, which bridges the gap between desktop and industrial 3D printing by bringing features that were previously only available on industrial 3D printers to educators at a significantly lower cost.

Method is essentially a mashup of the the accessibility and ease of use MakerBot is known for plus the industrial technologies and expertise from parent company Stratasys.

Industrial technologies on the MakerBot Method 3D printer include:

  • Circulating Heated Chamber
  • Dual Performance Extruders
  • Precision PVA Water Soluble Supports
  • Dry-Sealed Material Bays
  • Ultra-Rigid Metal Frame
  • Built-in sensors and automation features

Why is this important? These features combined with an improved workflow means you can turn your CAD files to parts faster and print up to 2X faster than desktop 3D printers.

You get unlimited design freedom and unrestricted geometries (like complex overhangs without scarring) because of the extrusion system combined with water-soluble PVA.

As with all MakerBot 3D printers, you also get out-of-the-box deployment and a hassle-free guided setup, making it easy to install and use. The automated maintenance procedures of another ideal bonus for busy educators.
